Meal idea: Thick Sausage Sarnie with Caramelised Onions Slowly cook two sliced onions in butter over a low heat for 25–30 minutes until deeply golden and sweet. Meanwhile, grill or pan-fry the sausages until caramelised and cooked through. Split a thick-cut white bloomer, spread generously with butter and a smear of English mustard, layer in the sausages, and pile on the onions. Simple, indulgent, and absolutely worth it.
